About Me

I am SO excited to be your scholar's teacher this year! I am originally from Albany, Georgia, and I grew up with my two lovely parents, my two older brothers, and our wonderful dog. During my senior year of high school, I was awarded the Foundation Fellowship at the University of Georgia and the Jefferson Scholarship at the University of Virginia. I ended up following my heart and choosing the Foundation Fellowship at UGA, and I graduated from there in 2020. Go Dawgs!!! As a Foundation Fellow, I got to be part of an amazing cohort of brilliant and kind people, and we got to travel the world together to places like Bali and Costa Rica and study abroad at the University of Oxford. I moved to Charlotte with Teach for America in 2020, and I've been teaching ever since! I spent my first three years teaching at Joseph W. Grier Academy, and I joined the Dilworth Elementary family two years ago to teach second grade. I’ve also worked as a Storytelling Fellow for Teach for America-North Carolina and an Aspiring Leaders Intern for CMS. This summer, I lived in NYC for six weeks and took a class at Columbia University! Outside of school, I love spending time in local coffee shops, trying new restaurants, going to sporting events and concerts, spending time with family and friends, and doing art projects. I can’t wait for an AMAZING year with all of you!
