PLEASE NOTE: Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, First Ward Creative Arts will be the full-choice creative arts middle school. If you are looking for a high school, Northwest School of the Arts is the arts magnet for you!

To apply for the 2026-2027 school year at First Ward Creative Arts Middle School, students must complete an audition. To request an audition, please follow these steps:

1. Submit the Audition Request Form to apply for an audition.

2. Review your child’s Audition Requirements carefully to prepare for the audition/portfolio review.

3. Check audition Dates & Deadlines and your email weekly to schedule the audition.

Check out the video below for some clips from our first Firebird Festival! Firebird Festival is a community building event and artistic showcase designed to recognize diversity. These school-wide assemblies are built around a theme. The work presented typically comes from a combination of things the students are working on in class and student work that has been self-selected and rehearsed on their own time outside of school. For our first one on October 1st, the theme was Hispanic Heritage month.
