Focus on earning strong final grades. Colleges review your 9th, 10th, and 11th grade transcripts.
Challenge yourself with Honors and, when recommended, AP courses.
Get involved in extracurricular activities. They can make a big difference for scholarships.
Complete community service and keep track of your hours.
Start researching colleges and scholarships early. Visit CFNC for NC colleges.
Begin preparing for the SAT/ACT if testing is a challenge. Visit College Board and talk with your counselor for resources.
Make good decisions and maintain a positive reputation.

You must have 6 credits - classes passed - in order to be promoted to 10th grade.
