Get to Know Your Teacher

I am from Clayton, NC, a small town outside of Raleigh, NC. I moved to Charlotte in 2012 to attend UNC Charlotte. I graduated in 2016 with a B.A. in English with a concentration Language and Digital Technology and a minor in Communication Studies. During college I was the Co-President of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society for 2 years. I was also a member of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Student Committee Board and the Women's Leadership Development Board. I am now in the graduate certificate program for teaching at UNC Charlotte.

I have always had a passion for reading and writing since a young age. In my spare time I enjoy creative writing and hope to someday publish my own work of literature. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my sweet Yorkie pup, Coco, trying new recipes in the kitchen, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

What I'm reading: Crazy Rich Asians & Educated: A Memoir

What I'm watching: The Good Place

Where I want to travel next: NYC

Next recipe I want to try: Mascarpone cheesecake

My Mission Statement:

My mission is to prepare middle school students for the 21st century world. I hope to inspire students to be the best they can be so that they may be successful in their adult lives. I envision a classroom where all students feel comfortable sharing their passions, beliefs, and thoughts respectfully. I wish to encourage students to pursue higher education whether that be a technical/professional school or a University.

"I am not a teacher, but an awakener."
