Teacher Bio:
I graduated in 2005 from SUNY Oneonta, a four year college about three hours outside of NYC, with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I moved immediately to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where I taught Second grade for five years. I got the itch to do something different and pursued my Master's Degree in Secondary Mathematics at Campbell University. After graduating in 2010, I taught at a large urban H.S. in Fayetteville. High school is most definitely my niche. We moved to Charlotte in 2013. The 2021-2022 school year will be my fifth year in CMS at South Meck and my seventeenth year teaching. Here at South Meck it feels like an amazing place to grow as an educator and challenge myself professionally.
Math is my passion! I am teaching what I love and I thoroughly enjoy sharing my knowledge with each of you everyday!
A strong foundation in mathematics is essential to prepare for our dynamic global society. I understand the complexity and abstractness of mathematics, but I strongly believe that perseverance will carry you through. Give 100% daily. Math is SO much fun if you embrace it!
Some of my hobbies include reading, trivia, word/number puzzles, and watching all sorts of sports. I live in Mint Hill with my husband, Steve, and our two sons, Owen and Isaac. Owen is 11 years old and in sixth grade. Isaac is 6 and is in first grade. We enjoy attending sports venues and gatherings with friends and family. I love family vacations to the beach and to the mountains.
