The CMS Teacher-Leader Pathway was awarded $2.6 million from North Carolina Department of Instruction (NCDPI) for a 3-year pilot to fund the expansion of Phase II of the program, focused on professional development.
If you are accepted into our teacher-leader talent pool, we will commit to preparing you for the advanced role that awaits you. Thanks to the grant provided by NC DPI, all candidates accepted into the talent pool are afforded the opportunity to register for all of the exclusive professional development our teacher-leader program offers, whether hired into an advanced role this year or not.
Grant funds are utilized in a variety of ways to yield the highest results per dollar allotted. Grant dollars are used to invest in the long term sustainability of the program and to build capacity in our teacher-leaders. The majority of funding (almost 65%) is directed towards providing professional development opportunities for teacher leaders, followed by district program staff salaries (almost 30%).
