The HS Chorus Honors Ensemble program is designed to give county vocalists the opportunity to participate in an advanced large ensemble under the direction of a guest conductor. Students are chosen and seated according to the individual school directors. Music is selected by the directors and the guest conductor. The guest conductor conducts the final rehearsals and concert.

Pre-Event Reminders
November 19th (3:30-3:45 arrival time; rehearsal from 4pm-7pm) and 20th (11:00-11:15 arrival time; rehearsal from 11:30am-4:30pm and dinner; 6:00pm-7pm FREE performance)
Directors should have emergency/medical info and contact list for participants.
Students will wear long black pants and their festival t-shirt (provided at event)for the final performance. Wear this on Friday.
Students bring a dinner on Friday or if your director has coordinated dinner, that can be
prepared in advance by the school.
NWSA Parking, Drop off and Pick up Info
Parking Lot Directions:
Turn onto Celia Avenue (located left of the school building)
Go over two speed bumps
Take the first right after the second speed bump. *The first entrance after the first speed bump is a construction entrance. Do not enter there!
Enter the parking lot.
Pick-Up Instructions:
Turn in the parking lot and park in any open parking spot.
Rides should be ready to pick up by 5:00 PM on Friday, November 21.
Concert Parking:
Park in the Bus Lot (located to the right of the school building)
Rides should be ready to pick up by 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 22.
Auditorium Entrance:
After parking in the bus lot, walk back to the street and turn right. Walk towards the school, passing the colorful entrance of the school building.
The entrance of the auditorium will be directly in front of you. It is the glass paned doors to the left of the main school entrance.
FRIDAY INFORMATION:
For Bus & Car Drop-Offs:
Please drop off in the bus lot. The bus lot is located off of Beatties Ford Road and to the right of the school building (if you are looking straight at it). After being dropped off, please walk towards the front of the school building and continue past the rainbow-colored entrance on your right. Then enter the auditorium lobby where you will be directed to pass through the Evolv Scanners. Once that process has been completed, you will exit the auditorium lobby, go back outside, and go around the corner of the building keeping the auditorium on your right. Then you will enter the E Building (Performing Arts Building, gray in color) across from the mobile units/trailers.
For Parking:
Teachers and Parent Chaperones should park in the back parking lot. These individuals should turn onto Celia Avenue which is located to the left of the school building. Once on Celia Avenue, take your first right after going over the second speed bump. You may park in any open parking spot. Then walk up through the construction awning, up the brick staircase, and take a right and stay on the sidewalk with the gray building on your left. Continue past the gray building and walk past the brick building and turn the corner to your left. This is the auditorium which you will enter the lobby and be directed to pass through the Evolv Scanners. Once that process has been completed, you will exit the auditorium lobby, go back outside, and go around the corner of the building keeping the auditorium on your right (going back the way you came). Then you will enter the E Building (Performing Arts Building, gray in color) across from the mobile units/trailers.
ALL Participants should then head to the second floor and locate room E201 which is the High School Chorus Room where we will have registration and begin our rehearsal time together.

Ethan L. Price is the choral director at Central Cabarrus High School in Concord, NC where he has been for 12 years. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education and a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (cum laude) where he was a NC Teaching Fellow. He is also a proud graduate of Alexander Central High School in Taylorsville, NC. His ensembles consistently receive superior ratings at MPA, were selected to perform at the NCMEA Conference in 2023, and his students are selected for the NC High School Honors Chorus, Mars Hill Choral Festival, Wingate All-Carolina Select Choir, and participate in Cabarrus All-County Chorus Festivals annually. He currently serves as a Zone Coordinator for the Mars Hill Choral Festival hosting the zone rehearsal and auditions each fall and is the West #1 MPA Site Chair at Wingate University. Annually, he serves as the music director for his school's Blumey award winning (2024-Pippin) and consistently nominated musicals. Mr. Price is a current member of the North Carolina Music Educators Association and the American Choral Directors Association and currently serves as the Performing Choirs Chair on the NCMEA High School Choral Board. Additionally, he serves as the music director at Konnoak Hills Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC where he has been directing for 14 years.
