What is the SETT Process?
The AT team uses a SETT Framework with consults & evaluations to address student access to the curriculum. The SETT Framework addresses four components (Student, Environment, Task and Tools). The assessment is ongoing as the task, environment and student needs change.
Tools are the last to be considered and are only selected after the team has addressed the:
Student's strengths, abilities& skills
Environments where the assistive technology willbe used
Tasks the student needs to complete to participate in school and achieve IEP goals.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework that promotes all learners accessing and participating in meaningful, challenging learning opportunities.
