Choice-making is an intervention strategy that allows students to express their needs, wants, and participate in daily activities.
Choice Making Strategies
Yes/No choices – present them consistently on the same side (ex. left-yes; right-no)
Two handed techniques
Touching body techniques
Eye gaze
Using partner assisted scanning with voice output “That’s the one I want.” List choices first, then list them again and the student makes a choice. Can be done with or without using pictures.
