Please inform Mr. Smith, Cato School Counselor as soon as you are offered any scholarships (accepted and unaccepted.) Bring or email a copy of your official scholarship award letters as you receive them .  This information is needed to add it to the Senior Awards Program, Graduation Program, etc.

Applying for Scholarships:

1. Mr. Smith can assist with the processing of your scholarship application.

2. Understand the majority of scholarships have been determined by outside organizations and colleges.

3. It is the responsibility of the student to meet scholarship deadlines. Missing deadlines may forfeit your scholarship opportunity.  Allow two weeks for me to process your application prior to the due date.

4. Completely and carefully fill in all information requested.

5. If transcripts are needed for scholarships, requests from myself or Ms. Jones via email felishd.jones@cms.k12.nc.us. Students make sure to pay the online transcript fee.  Allow two weeks processing time. 

6. If a letter of recommendation is needed from your School Counselor, Teacher, or Administrator your resume must be entered in Naviance.

7. Please be aware that many scams appear each year attempting to get families to pay for information that is free.  You should not have to pay for scholarship information!
