North Mecklenburg High School Career Development Coordinator
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools wants to ensure that every student is ready for the next step after high school, whether that step is college, career or military service.
Career & Technical Education (CTE) helps prepare students who want to embark on a career trajectory while still in high school. Students can choose from different pathways, each with only 3 or three sequenced courses. Some pathways can result in industry certifications while still in high school.
Others provide early credit toward a post-secondary degree. All of them offer the opportunity to connect with future employers through job shadowing and internships.
So if you want to get a jump on the job, CTE offers you a pathway to that head start. Whether you’re interested in technology, automobiles, cosmetology or Business, there’s a pathway that will allow you to acquire deep career knowledge, gain industry-recognized certifications and test-drive your career in a summer internship.
Follow a CTE pathway and you’ll be ready – ready for a career, ready for a job and ready for the future.
