In-Person Courses at CPCC
Anyone taking a CPCC class for the first time, must take CPCC classes on Williams campus for the first semester. If you earn an A or B on your first semester CPCCs, you are eligible to leave campus (must have your own transportation and work with your Williams schedule) you can leave campus to take the class- online or in-person.
In-person classes must be pre-approved by school administration.
How Many CPCC Classes?
1 Williams block= 1 CPCC class at a time
Most students take 1 class at a time (8 week session), which equals 4 classes for the year.
Students can take CPCC courses as electives, but students are required to meet Williams graduation- 2 Montessori Elements and 2 Intersessions (per year)- Fall/Spring. You must have a CPCC hold in your schedule for each CPCC class you take at one time.
**Consideration: CPCC and CMS spring break do not align AND travel intersessions
Changing Schedule
Williams schedule is fixed. We would like students to commit to the courses they have selected with their counselors and CDC coordinator. If you are on campus during your “unscheduled” period, we reserve the right to place you in an online NCVPS or Edgenuity course.
CPCC courses can not be dropped after Williams’ schedule change period has ended.
Can I replace CMS Graduation Requirements with CPCC Courses?
Yes, you can replace English IV with 3 CPCC courses- ENG111, ENG112 and ENG241 OR ENG242. 2 of the 3 must be completed and passed BEFORE you start senior year.
Summer courses
Only rising seniors are eligible to take summer CPCC courses. CMS only pays the tuition. Families/Students responsible for paying for fees and textbooks.
You may take up to 3 courses over the summer. CPCC Summer registration starts in April, but students will need to notify counselors during 1:1 advising appointments in March.
**New CPCC enrollees can not take summer courses.
Failing a class
Retake the failed course with a C or better before enrolling in any new CPCC courses.
Failure to do this will result in discontinuing eligibility for registering for CPCC courses at Williams.
Monitoring Grades at CPCC
Williams staff members do not have access to student’s CPCC grades. Parents should monitor student’s progress through the student’s CPCC online platform.
Late Arrivals/Early Dismissal
Students must sign in and out.
Students who leave campus for the day can not return until after the school day has ended (sports practice and school events).
Attendance for CPCC classes will be taken by Williams. 3 unexcused tardies in one quarter, will result in students losing their parking pass for 2 weeks per the Williams’ student parking agreement.
