Ms. Hibner started her career more than 20 years ago as an Americorps volunteer at Randolph and Alexander Graham middle schools. She has experience at the elementary level as well as high school, notably South Mecklenburg where her oldest son graduated in 2011. She has another son who is a Myers Park graduate, and is currently a junior at NC Central.

Naturally Ms. Hibner enjoys books. She enjoys reading books and making art out of old discarded library books. She is a recycler and re-user who likes to spend time with nature and her large extended family. When not taking selfies with chickens you can find her fishing or hunting for such things as deer antler sheds, four leaf clovers and even shark teeth. She is an avid gardener and bird watcher. She also volunteers her time helping elderly folks.

She was awarded a fellowship attending UNC Chapel Hill and holds degrees from UNCG and Concordia College in Minnesota which is where she grew up.
