I am the school counselor for 1st, 3rd, and 5th-grade students here at BWE. I am very grateful to be a part of the BWE family for a fourth year and am very excited to be in the building with our wonderful students. I am originally from Spring Arbor, MI, and have lived in the south for 32 years. I received my BSW at Roberts Wesley College in Rochester, NY then moved to Nashville, TN to pursue my counseling career. After moving to Charlotte, I entered the world of CMS substitute teaching for seven years and realized I wanted to become more involved with the students and help them to find their "Ah-Ha" moments so I returned to NCSU and received my Master’s in School Counseling.  Outside of work, I love hanging out with my two teenage sons and our rescue dogs, Gunther and Colette, binge-watching anything Marvel and Harry Potter, grabbing my camera to capture nature's beauty, and seeking to make the perfect pasta.
