My name is Ana Acevedo. I am originally from the border of Mexico(Matamoros, Tamaulipas and Brownsville, Texas). I grew up in Brownsville and attended a private Catholic school, Saint Joseph Academy, where I participated in cheerleading and the Junior National Honor Society. I was a recipient of the DAR and Presidential Academic Achievement Award. I was also selected for the Duke SAT program as a seventh-grader. I studied at the University of Texas, both in Austin and Brownsville. I majored in Spanish and minored in English. I have taught all grade levels, including high school Spanish and pre-kindergarten LEP programs. I have a son who is a freshman at Hough High School. We relocated to Lake Norman ten years ago and are absolutely ecstatic to be in this area. I have worked as both a substitute and a full-time teacher at various Lake Norman schools. I am currently teaching Spanish II at Hough High School in Lake Norman.
