Student Transformation Cell – CMRIT
About the Student Transformation Cell
At CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT), we believe that education is not just about academics—it is about shaping students into confident, skilled, and responsible individuals. To achieve this vision, we have established the Student Transformation Cell.
The student transformation cell is dedicated to guiding every student from the moment they step into CMRIT as a first-year undergraduate until they graduate as a fully developed professional. This journey focuses on academic excellence, personal growth, emotional resilience, and professional readiness.
Mentorship Model
One of the unique features of the student transformation cell is its one-to-one mentorship system.
Each student is assigned a dedicated mentor right after admission.
The mentor becomes a constant support system throughout the four years at CMRIT and continues to remain a guiding force even beyond graduation.
Mentors assist students in academics, career planning, personal development, and help them face life challenges with confidence.
Through this structured mentorship, we aim to transform every student into not only a successful professional but also a responsible citizen who contributes positively to society.
The cell is guided by:
Dr. Pappa M – Dean – Mentoring & Initiatives, Professor & HOD, ECE
Prof. Sanitha Michail C – Associate Director - Mentoring, Assistant Professor, ECE
Professional Counselling Support
We understand that student life comes with its own set of challenges—academic pressure, career uncertainty, emotional struggles, and personal concerns. To ensure complete well-being, CMRIT provides access to professional counselling services through the student transformation cell.
Our trained counsellors offer confidential, compassionate, and professional support to students.
Counselling sessions address issues such as stress, anxiety, self-confidence, decision-making, and emotional well-being.
The goal is to create a safe space where students feel comfortable to share, reflect, and find guidance.
Our Counsellors:
Mr. Kedar A Rao , Senior Counsellor
Ms. Kavisha S. K

Student-Led Teams in Student Transformation Cell
Peer Support Team (PST) – Emotional Support
The Peer Support Team (PST) is formed by empathetic and compassionate students selected from each class. These students are approachable, good listeners, and willing to extend emotional support to their peers.
They take the initiative to talk to classmates who may be struggling silently.
They encourage open conversations, making it easier for students to share their concerns.
By creating a culture of empathy, the PST helps reduce loneliness, stress, and emotional burdens.
This initiative builds a strong support system within the student community, where no one feels left out.
Peer Learning Team (PLT) – Academic Support
The Peer Learning Team (PLT) consists of academically strong students who volunteer to help peers with their studies.
They conduct group study sessions, clarify doubts, and provide guidance on difficult subjects.
PLT members act as peer tutors, helping struggling students improve performance and gain confidence.
This teamwork builds a spirit of collaborative learning where students learn from each other and grow together.
The PLT ensures that no student is left behind academically, and it fosters leadership, responsibility, and teamwork among the members.
How to Connect with Student Transformation Cell
Students can:
Reach out to their assigned mentor for academic, career, or personal guidance.
Book a counselling session with our professional counsellors for confidential support.
Apply to join PST or PLT if they wish to contribute actively to the student community.
Together, through mentorship, counselling, and peer-driven initiatives, the Student Transformation Cell at CMRIT strives to empower every student to become a successful professional and a responsible citizen.
