About Makerspace CMRIT
The Makerspace at CMRIT is a dedicated hub for students and staff to explore cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies, fostering creativity and innovation. Recognized as a FabLab and approved by the Fab Foundation, Boston, our Makerspace is equipped with an extensive array of hand and power tools, a workshop/ideation zone, a laser cutter for working with non-metallic materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, cork, acrylic, polypropylene, and card/paper, a CNC router for carving precision shapes on wood and metals, and 3D printers for transforming computer models into physical prototypes.

DIGITAL FAB LAB
Our digital fabrication laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines, enabling rapid prototyping and fabrication of intricate designs.
SHOP FLOOR SERVICES
We offer shopfloor provides access to a variety of hand and power tools for woodworking, welding, and acrylic jointing, as well as facilities for achieving professional paint finishes.
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT MENTORING
Our team of experts offers personalized mentoring and guidance throughout the product development process, from concept ideation to prototype refinement.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
We offer a range of training programs, including the Maker-Ed Certificate Program, Short-Term Training Programs (STTPs), Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), as well as workshops on design thinking and digital fabrication.
STARTUP MENTORING
For aspiring entrepreneurs, we provide mentorship and support to help turn innovative ideas into successful startups, including assistance with business planning, market research, and funding opportunities.
NETWORKING & TECHNICAL EVENTS
We host regular networking events such as hackathons, makethons, and ideathons, bringing together innovators, students, startups, and faculty members to collaborate, share ideas, and foster creativity and innovation.
