I am Dr. D. Sumathi, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CMR Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, with 20 years of teaching experience in Computer Science and Engineering.
I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, with research focused on trust-aware scheduling mechanisms for improving Quality of Service in cloud computing.
My academic and research interests have evolved from Cloud Computing and Intelligent Scheduling to contemporary areas including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Explainable AI (XAI), Agentic AI, Data Analytics, Generative AI, and AI-enabled intelligent systems.
Along with teaching and research, I actively contribute to academic leadership, curriculum development, faculty development programmes, workshops, student mentoring, research publications, patents, book authorship, conference activities, and professional service.
I believe in connecting Teaching → Research → Innovation → Real-World Impact, while encouraging students and researchers to explore emerging technologies through practical learning and research-oriented problem solving.
