KOTLIN ,MULTIPLATFORM & COMPOSSE MULTIPLATFORM
The session on Build Once, Run Everywhere: Kotlin Multiplatform & Compose Multiplatform focused on Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform, two emerging technologies transforming application development. Using Kotlin Multiplatform how to write shared business logic and deploy it across Android, iOS, Web, and Desktop platforms and using Compose Multiplatform Overview how to build modern, declarative UIs using Jetpack Compose across multiple platforms were disscused in the session.
SWIFT DEVELOPERS MEETUP
The Swift Developer Meetup @ CMRIT was successfully organized on 31st January 2026, aiming to introduce students to Apple platform development and inspire them to participate in the prestigious Swift Student Challenge. The event brought together experienced iOS professionals, Swift Student Challenge winners, and enthusiastic learners on a single platform to explore the journey from ideation to app development using Swift and SwiftUI. The meetup served as a valuable knowledge-sharing and networking forum, particularly for students aspiring to build careers in iOS development and the Apple ecosystem.
CODING AND DEVELOPMENT USING AI (VIBE CODING)
A technical session on “Coding and Development Using AI Tools” was conducted to provide participants with hands-on exposure to modern AI-assisted development workflows. The session highlighted how emerging AI platforms can significantly enhance productivity, accuracy, and creativity in software development. The session successfully highlighted the transformative role of AI in software development. By exploring tools such as ChatGPT, Grok, DeepSeek, Lovable, and others, the participants learned how AI can significantly boost efficiency and enable rapid prototyping. The event encouraged learners to adapt AI-driven methodologies for future-ready development practices.
TECHSTACK TRENDS IN 2025
Modern software development relies on a layered technology stack where each layer contributes to scalability, performance, and agility. Two of the most critical components in this ecosystem are Databases (responsible for persistent storage) and DevOps (responsible for deployment, automation, and system reliability).
This report summarizes the key concepts, comparisons, and real-world use cases presented in the slides. the session provided a clear and practical understanding of the roles played by Databases and DevOps in modern application development. Students gained insights into architecture layers, database selection strategies, SQL vs NoSQL comparisons, and production-level implementations using PostgreSQL and MongoDB. The presentation emphasized the importance of choosing the right technologies for scalability, reliability, AI-driven workloads, and real-time operations.
WEB DEVELOPMENT FOR E-COMMERCE
The lecture aimed to familiarize students with the fundamentals and advanced aspects of web development in the e-commerce domain, focusing on industry practices, technology stacks, and career opportunities. The session also highlighted how web development drives the growth of the global e-commerce market. The guest lecture successfully enriched the students’ understanding of web development in the e-commerce space and its vital role in the modern economy. The Department of MCA and the Center of Excellence for Application Development plan to organize more such industry-oriented sessions to enhance student readiness for real-world challenges.
