About SGA

Student Government Creed

We the members of the Student Government Association, promise to do our best and to do our duties at all times. We promise to unite under all circumstances for the common good of the students. We will engage in critical thinking to bring the best outcomes from abroad. We will conduct the proper decorum in all meetings. We shall respect each other with respect for one another’s regards and wishes. We promise to make decisions that will promote the common good and stability of the Student Government Association. We will provide centralized leadership, in which we will establish the student viewpoint.

Mission Statement

The Student Government Association of Chesapeake Math & Information Technology South High School institutes an association for their benefit, to provide student leadership, to promote the continual improvement of intra-school relations, to act on behalf of all students, to establish student viewpoints, and to promote unity between the students, the school, and the community.

SGA Goals

The major goals of the SGA for the 2020-2021 School Year:

1. Help students develop strategies to navigate through distance learning

2. Expanding role of SGA in the community through new subcommittees, positions, and events

3. Starting, developing, and leaving behind outreach programs for students' personal, social, and emotional growth and development
