FACULTY AND STAFF: RESERVE THE LIBRARY
Our mission is to provide an inviting, dynamic learning environment and services that empowers teaching, prompts curiosity, promotes literacy, and enriches our district’s curriculum.
We aspire for our students to be critical thinkers, lifelong learners, ethical users of information and enthusiastic readers.

Checkout Policies
Students may borrow or have out up to 7 library items.
Students may check out books for 2 weeks at a time. If no one else has put a hold on it, a student may renew it for another 2 weeks.
Holds
If you want a book that someone else has checked out, you can put a hold on it on your Alexandria account. If you don't know how to do this, ask a library staff member.
Overdue Fines
All books are checked out to students for 2 weeks, though they can be renewed if students need additional time.
Overdue fines are $0.10 per day per item.
If you are absent on the day an item is due, talk to a library staff member about this once you return to school. Be sure to bring in your overdue library books.
You can also log into your Alexandria account and see what books you have checked out. Ask a library staff member if you don't know how to do this.
Lost or Damaged Books
If a book has been out for an excessively long time, it will be declared lost. Students will not be able to check out another book until the lost book is either returned or paid for. If a book is paid for, and then found within the same school year in good condition, the money will be refunded to the parent. Any books damaged by water, coloring, food, ripped pages, dog/animal bites, etc., will be the responsibility of the student's parent/guardian.
We ask that you pay with exact change, a check through April 15th, or a money order.
Please DO NOT attempt to replace a lost book yourself. The majority of our hardback books are library bound. This means they are special ordered with more durable covers for multi-use check-outs. Books bought from Amazon and other discount retailers often do not offer library-bound editions and do not come processed for the library.
Teachers do not have a limit on items. The checkout period is 2 weeks. Only teachers may also check out videos and audiovisual equipment.
Visiting the Library
Between 7:30 a.m. and 2:25 p.m., students must have an E-Hall pass to come to the library.
Stop at the table in the front of the library to check in with a library staff member upon arrival, so they can access your E-Hall pass. Sign in using the iPad. Check out upon leaving, so they can indicate you have left.
Visiting During CCRP
Students must have an E-Hall pass approved by their CCRP teacher. They must sign in like normal. They are limited to 10-minute visits.
Students may come to the library during CCRP for the following reasons:
Check out a book.
Return a book.
Print a paper.
Visiting During Lunch
Students may not come to the library instead of going to the cafeteria.
Library Expectations for Behavior
Be productive and engaged in school-related work.
Be polite and respectful.
Be prepared. Do not ask to do errands, make phone calls, go to your locker, etc.
Students may neither eat food nor drink beverages in the library except water.
If you cannot/do not follow these expectations, you will be sent back to your class and your teacher notified.
You may connect your computer directly to one of the printers in the library. Printing is free, up to 6 black-and-white pages per day, if it is for assignments, scholarships, ACT or ASVAB or college applications, and school-related extracurricular activities.
We do not print in color for students or make copies for students.
