AUTRY FINISHES 27TH AT STATE TOURNAMENT
Junior Mackenzie Autry posted scores of 90-76 at the State Tournament in Sevierville. Autry's 14 stroke improvement on Day 2 helped her move up from 36th place to 27th place in the event.
NWHS POSTS RUNNER-UP FINISH AT REGION TOURNAMENT, AUTRY ADVANCES TO STATE
For the first time in over 20 years, the Lady Vikings Golf team finished runner up at its Regional tournament. Mackenzie Autry shot a score of 80, which earned her a T-2 finish and a trip to the State tournament in Sevierville. Lily Skau finished in 7th place with a score of 85, and Emma Arms posted a score of 123, an improvement of 11 shots from the previous week.
NWHS POSTS RUNNER-UP FINISH AT DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
The Girls Golf team finished second to Clarksville High School at the 2021 District Tournament. Junior Mackenzie Autry led the way with a score of 80, good for 3rd place overall. Senior Lily Skau posted a score of 85, which placed her in 6th place in the event. Newcomer Emma Arms shot a score of 134.
THE 2021 GOLF SEASON HAS BEGUN
Returning golfers Lily Skau (12), Mackenzie Autry (11), and Samantha Furnish (10) have been joined this year by sophomore Emma Arms.
The boys team consists of Coleton Montjoy (12) and Hunter Swanson (10).
The teams have been practicing for a few weeks and had their first match on Monday August 2.
NWHS SEASON ENDS AT 2020 REGION TOURNAMENT
The NWHS Lady Vikings season came to end at the Region 5 Tournament with a 5th place finish. Mackenzie Autry finished a strong sophomore season with a T11 finish. Junior Lily Skau placed 15th in a field that included eventual state champion Station Camp High School.
NWHS POSTS RUNNER-UP FINISH AT 2020 DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
The NWHS Lady Vikings finished in 2nd place at the District 10 Tournament on Monday September 21 at Swan Lake Golf Course. Mackenzie Autry posted an 10 over par score of 82, which placed her 2nd in the district. Lily Skau finished 5th with a +13 85. This was the first time the Lady Vikings finished runner-up at district in at least 24 years. The team advances to play in the Region 5 Tournament at Pine Creek Golf Course in Mt. Juliet on Tuesday September 29.
SOPHOMORE AUTRY POSTS EVEN PAR ROUND
On Tuesday, August 24, Mackenzie Autry posted a career-best even par 36 at the River Club. Lily Skau added a solid score of 41 as the Lady Vikings defeated Rossview and Springfield with a season low team score of 77. The team now has a record of 5-1 as they head into a match with Creekwood and Springfield on September 2 at the Legacy Golf Course in Springfield.
LADY VIKINGS WIN RAIN-SOAKED MATCH
On Monday, August 3, the Northwest Girls Golf team defeated an absent Northeast team at Swan Lake Golf Course in Clarksville. The start of the match was delayed by 45 minutes due to an unexpected thunderstorm. Once the skies cleared, Lily Skau and Mackenzie Autry took to the course. Lily managed a score of +3 through seven holes. Mackenzie was 8 over par through 7 holes when the round was shortened by another storm that ended the match. The girls return to Swan Lake on Monday August 10 take on the district-favorite Clarksville High Wildcats.
LADY VIKINGS WIN FIRST MATCH OF 2020
On Tuesday, July 28, the Northwest Girls Golf team defeated Montgomery Central in the season-opening match at the River Club. Junior Lily Skau led the way with a +3 39, one shot ahead of sophomore teammate Mackenzie Autry. The girls return to competition on Monday August 3 at Swan Lake Golf Course against Northeast and Montgomery Central.
THE 2020 GOLF SEASON IS UNDERWAY
On Monday, July 13 the 2020 NWHS golf season began. Freshmen Sam Furnish and Katie Groves have joined returning starters Junior Lily Skau and Sophomore Mackenzie Autry on the girls team.
Graduation and attrition has left the boys golf team with no members at this time. If you or someone you know would like to play golf for Northwest, please let me know. It's not too late to start golfing!
THE LEAF-CHRONICLE ANNOUNCES ALL-AREA TEAM
Lily Skau and Mackenzie Autry were named to the Leaf-Chronicle All-Area Girls Golf Team-Second Team for the 2019 season.
NW GOLF SEASON ENDS
The season came to end for the Lady Vikings at the Region 5 Tournament at the Clarksville Country Club. Lily Skau shot a 94 and Mackenzie Autry shot a 96 as the team finished 6 out of 6 teams at the tournament.
LADY VIKINGS ADVANCE TO REGION!!!
For the first time in over 20 years, the Lady Viking golf team advanced to the Region tournament with a 3rd place finish at the District tournament at Swan Lake. Lily Skau finished 4th in the field of 22 golfers with a score of 82 and Mackenzie Autry finished in 8th place with a score of 91.
LADY VIKING WINS THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY INVITATIONAL
Two Lady Viking golfers traveled to Hopkinsville Kentucky to participate in the inaugural Christian County Invitational. Freshman Mackenzie Autry shot an impressive 89 to finish in a tie for 7th place in the field of 42 golfers. Sophomore teammate Lily Skau shot an 81 on the par-72 course to finish in 1st place, 5 shots clear of her nearest competitor.
THE 2019 SEASON BEGINS
The Northwest Lady Vikings began their 2019 campaign on August 5 with victories over Montgomery Central, Northeast, and Sycamore. Mackenzie Autry led the way for the Lady Vikings with a 46 at Swan Lake Golf Course. Her round was highlighted by a birdie on the fifth hole. Sophomore Lily Skau contributed a 54 to the winning effort.
ASGARD AWARDS
Congratulations to Xavier Moise, Danica Rosmenoski, Lily Skau, Madeline Skau, Brianna Teasley, and Bethany Walsh. These golfers were recognized at the 1st Annual Asgard Awards for having earned at least a 3.5 GPA in the 2018-2019 school year.

NW Golf Season Ends
The Northwest Girls Golf Season ended at the Region 5 Tournament in Hendersonville. Senior Madeline Skau finished her career with a round of 84. Madeline finished the tournament in a tie for 13th place. Lily Skau ended her freshman year with a round of 98, good for a tie for 28th place.
NW Girls Advance to Region
Madeline Skau and Lily Skau represented NWHS at the District golf tournament at Paris Landing Golf Course. While the team fell short of achieving their goal of advancing to the Region tournament as a team, both golfers will be moving on as individual qualifiers. Lily led the way for Northwest, carding a 90 for the 18-hole event. Madeline was very close behind with a score of 91. The team score of 181 placed them 4th in the 11 team district tournament.
NW Girls Golf Finish Regular Season Undefeated
The Northwest Girls Golf team ended a very successful regular season with a record of 8-0-1. Senior Madeline Skau finished her senior regular season with an average of 41.3. Freshman Lily Skau contributed a 45.3 average in her initial campaign for the Lady Vikings.
While they did not participate in any post-season tournaments, Senior Brianna Teasley and Juniors Bethany Walsh and Danica Rosmenoski put in countless hours of practice and showed a lot of growth this season. This was their first season as golfers and they should be proud of the effort they put forth. The same can be said for Xavier Moise, the lone boys golfer on the Northwest squad this year.
