Library Rules
Passes
Students may come before school without a pass from 7:10-7:25.
During school hours, students may come on a Library Pass from their teacher. They must sign in and present the pass to an adult. Passes will be stamped and given back when student the student is ready to return to class. Students must go back to class 5 minutes before the period ends.
During lunch period, students may come to the library but must pick up a Lunch Pass from the library no later than 10a.m. Food, drink, cell phones not permitted & students must stay the duration of the lunch period after entry.
During Eagle Time, students may come on designated "travel days" (Tuesdays and Thursdays) to study and/or work with a Library Pass from their teacher.
Food & Drink
Please enjoy your food and drinks outside of the library. The only acceptable drinks in the library by students is bottled water.
Cell Phones
Cell phones may not be used in the library between 7:30 and 2:30 unless requested by a teacher for school-related purposes/instruction.
Computers
CMCSS issues all high school students individual laptops. The few desktop computers we have in the library are reserved for technology work orders and may be used for five minutes.
Borrowing Privileges
The NEHS Library Media Center has over 15,000 items available for student use. These include fiction, nonfiction, biographies, audiobooks/ebooks, magazine, and reference materials.
Alexandria is the name of our library catalog. This is where you can browse and search for books by title, author, subject, or keyword.
Checkout Policies and Procedures
*Please renew or turn your library items in on time to avoid fines. Students may call or email the library to renew items if they are absent on due date.
