Brandon Mull

Mr. Mull is American author who is best known for his children's fantasy series, Fablehaven, The Candy Shop War, the Beyonders trilogy, as well as the Five Kingdoms series. He also had his hand in beginning the Spirit Animal series.

He was born in California and now lives in Utah. He attended Brigham Young University (BYU). He held many jobs before he became a writer with his first novel, Fablehaven, in 2006. He also started Spirit Animals, but only wrote one of the stories in its entirety.

James Patterson:

James Patterson was born on March 22, 1947. In 2015, Patterson established the James Patterson Pledge with Scholastic Book Clubs to put books in the hands of young readers. He has written many novels over his career. The majority of the novels are adult fiction, but he has written many novels for middle school students.

Margaret Peterson Haddix

Mrs. Haddix was born in April 1964 and lived in a small town in Ohio. She has written more than 40 books for children and teenagers, including, the Shadow Children series, and the Missing series. She also wrote Into the Gauntlet, book 10 in The 39 Clues series. Her books have made New York Times Best Seller lists and American Library Association (ALA) annual book lists and they have won the International Reading Association's Children's Book Award and more than a dozen state reader's choice awards

Tim Green

Tim Green is a former NFL player for the Atlanta Falcons, where he played for eight years. He attended law school at Syracuse University where he graduated in 1994 with a law degree.

Since his retirement from football, Green has written nearly forty novels ranging from adult suspense to youth sports. His youth sports series in particular would become his best-selling works as an author.

A short list of his books for middle schoolers is: Football Hero; Deep Zone; Unstoppable; Touchdown Kid; Football Genus; among many others.
