Northeast Middle School is a military-friendly school that is committed to supporting the needs of military-connected students and families. The school has a number of programs and resources in place to help military students adjust to the challenges of moving and transitioning to a new school. The staff and administration understand the unique challenges that children from military families face and are committed to helping students succeed academically as well as in their future endeavors.
Northeast Middle School recognizes and supports our military members and their families through the following activities:

https://militarychild.org Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC)-Provides leadership and advocacy for ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility, family separation and transition.
https://mic3.net Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission- The Compact’s mission is to ease the educational transitions of school aged, military and uniform-connected students attending public schools or the Department of Defense Education Activity (DODEA) schools.
https://www.militaryonesource.mil Military One Source- A central hub and go-to-place for the military community. Provides information about military benefits, deployments, reintegration, moves, parenthood, retirement, and more.
https://www.redcross.org American Red Cross- Emergency communication for military families, financial assistance, referral services, deployment support and services.
https://www.veteranscrisisline.net Veteran’s Crisis Line-Connects veterans in crisis and their families and friends with qualified, caring Department of Veteran’s Affairs responders through a confidential toll-free hotline, online chat, or text. Veterans and their loved ones can call 1-800-8255 and press 1, chat online, or send a text message to 838255 to receive confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
https://www.ourmilitarykids.org Our Military Kids-Offers extracurricular activity grants to children and teens of deployed National Guard, deployed Reserve, or post-9/11 combat wounded, ill, or injured Veterans in treatment.
https://www.militaryfamily.org National Military Family Organization-Filling the Gaps to Strengthen and Empower Military Families. We stand up programs, like Operation Purple® to help families and children connect, learn resiliency, and find community. Our Military Spouse Scholarship Program helps create financially stable families by awarding spouses with funding to complete their education, find meaningful careers, and even expand entrepreneurial endeavors that contribute to their family’s income.
https://www.march2success.com March2Success-A free online resource hub for students in 8th to 12th grade to help improve scores on standardized tests such as state exit exams, college entrance exams or the ASVAB military entrance test.
https://military.tutor.com/home Provides on-demand, online tutoring and homework help at no cost to eligible service members, civilian personnel, and their dependents.
