The NEHS Speech & Debate team travelled to the State Tournament this weekend. All of our entries made it to finals with the following results:

6th place Interp Theatre titled Monster by Walter Dean Meyer, directed by Ashley Mayo and featuring Ellie Boss, Tori Cales, Ashley Mayo, Mallorie Puckett, Jerry Wiles, & Kameron Williams

6th place Humorous Interpretation Ashley Mayo

4th place Interp Theatre titled Sideways Stories from Wayside School by Louis Sachar, directed by Jerry Wiles and featuring Sophia Henry, Jordan Kirkland, Keagan Russell, Lyle Stotler, & Josh Woodard

3rd place Humorous Interpretation Jerry Wiles

3rd place Duo Interp Ashley Mayo & Jerry Wiles

And for the first time in my coaching career, we have a state champion getting 1st place in Original Oratory Josh Woodard

Big shoutout to Ms. Baez for accompanying them on this long trip out east!
