The Overview tab lists all of the courses a student is enrolled in. It also summarizes the work the student has done in each course, as well as the grade they have earned from the work completed in SchoolsPLP.
If a student clicks on the hyperlinked course title, they will be taken to an assignment detail screen. This will provide the student with a list of all of the assignments in the course, if they have completed it, how much time they spent on the assignment, and any grades associated with that assignment or lesson.
The grade that appears on the student's Overview page is an average of the work completed in SchoolsPLP. It does not include work that has been completed in the classroom or any other virtual learning platform. It will be important to remind students that this grade is not their official grade.
Students may click the link Work on this Course to open the course and begin on the day's lesson.
The report card in SchoolsPLP is not the official report card for CMCSS K-12 Virtual students.
The Progress column shows the student whether they are on track, behind, or far behind in each individual course. This student has missed an assignment in their English Language Arts 10 class. As a reminder, this indicator is not an indication of how well the student is doing in the course, but simply an indication of completion.
The Instructional Days column will show how many instructional days the student has been enrolled in the course. The CMCSS student calendar has been uploaded to SchoolsPLP which will take into consideration days that students 'do not report'.
The Hours Logged column shows the total amount of time a student has spent working on assignments inside that particular course.
The Finished Lessons column will show how many lessons in the course the student has completed.
The number of unfinished lessons in the course will be displayed in the Unfinished Lessons column. As the number of finished lessons go up, the number of unfinished lessons will go down at the same rate.
Clicking on the hyperlinked title Show a Different Period will provide a drop down menu that will allow the student to pick a different time period to show activity for.
The Minutes Worked column will show how much time a student spent working on assignments in that course on that particular day.
The Finished Lessons column is another location that the student can see how many lessons they have completed inside this course.
The column for Login Sessions shows the specific time a student logs in and the time in which they finished their session. It is blank if they did not sign in that day.
One of the features of SchoolsPLP is a messaging tool that allows communication between a student and their teacher. Communication through this messaging tool cannot occur between a student and a student. When a student logs in, if there is a message waiting, the program opens the message tab for the student to view first. The student cannot navigate outside of the message tab until all messages have been answered or acknowledged. SchoolsPLP keeps a record of the communication. Click the image below to watch the video below to see what the student will experience when they receive a message from their teacher.
