We ask that you use The Advanced Training Manual as a guide for the training. Note that we have recently updated the manual to include tips for leading an online group, so be sure to reference this updated version for the training. Read and become familiar with at least the “Practicum Materials” section of this manual before the training, since you will be asked to co-lead one of the online Small Group Sessions.
We strongly suggest that you are prepared to teach any of the core topics - reviewing the “Planning Your ATP Group” section will be helpful for this. On the first day, during a small group led by our faculty, you will choose your topic. During that first day, there will also be coaching sessions where you will receive faculty support in preparing the content for the group that you have chosen. Because there may be others who want the same topic, you may have to negotiate which topic you are assigned and be willing to teach a 2nd or 3rd preference. Understanding each of the topics well will contribute to your overall learning experience and is necessary to ultimately be able to facilitate an 8-week series.
