How do I record the work day for a qualified Guest who works on a district-scheduled half day?
All qualified Guests should be paid for the full day due to the District’s current practice of compensating guests who work on district-scheduled half days at the full-day rate.
Please note that this benefit is not applied to half-day absences.
If the workday is not recorded properly, payroll will process this instance incorrectly as a day's work. Multiple scenarios on district-scheduled half days that may require a different response, including:
1. Guests assigned to a Leave of Absence: All guests assigned to a leave of absence should be attached to the appropriate Vacancy or Absence in Red Rover.
Additionally, all Guests in long-term assignments are expected to follow the full-time team members' workday schedule.
2. Employee is only off during the PM on district-scheduled half days: No coverage is required. Therefore, the PM's absence should be entered as No Sub Required.
3. Employee is off for a full day on district-scheduled half days: Because students are in attendance during the AM, coverage is required. The full-day absence must be split so that the variation is recorded correctly and the Guest plans for a half day.
The AM absence should indicate Sub Required.
The PM's absence should be recorded as No Sub-Required.
Then, a Vacancy must be created to record the guests' time.
4. Guests assigned to a full-day Vacancy: No adjustments are required.
