⦁ To develop students’ abilities of independent thinking and self-learning, so that they can face adversity, make reasonable judgments and deal with different challenges.
⦁ To create a favorable learning environment for students and cultivate students’ positive values and attitudes, so that they are equipped to be competitive and reasonable global citizens.
⦁ An extensive variety of activities are conducted by our department to nurture students’ twelve priority values and attitudes: “Perseverance”, “Respect for Others”, “Responsibility”, “National Identity”, “Commitment”, “Integrity”, “Benevolence” (Optimized in December 2023), “Law-abidingness”, “Empathy”, “Diligence” (Newly added in November 2021), “Unity” and “Filial Piety” (Newly added in December 2023), in order to cultivate students’ positive values and attitudes from an early age, in preparation for the challenges they face in their studies, in their daily life and while growing up.
⦁ To develop students’ ability to identify the values embedded, analyze objectively, and make reasonable judgement in different issues they may encounter at different developmental stages so that they could take proper action to deal with the challenges in their future life.
An extensive variety of activities are conducted by our department to nurture students’ ten priority values and attitudes. Junior form students are mainly involved in the process of understanding, learning and participating while more emphasis is put on organizing, promoting and providing practical training for senior form students. Some of the national education-related activities organized by our committee are listed below.
To aid students develop a sense of belonging to the country and enhance their sense of national identity, our school conducts the national flag-raising ceremony weekly and the national anthem is played and sung during the national flag-raising ceremony.

In the weekly flag-raising ceremony, the National Education Team will arrange for teachers or student representatives to deliver a speech under the National Flag. The speeches will focus on the country’s development achievements, national security, and how to embody the spirit of patriotism and social responsibility in daily life. Specific examples and stories will be included in the speeches to encourage students to reflect on how they can play their part in school and society.
To help students building a better understanding of our country and increase their sense of national identity, student representatives regularly share the recent development in China with the whole school during the morning assembly under the guidance of our teachers.

To train students to learn the proper flag-raising ceremony procedures, our committee invited some external organizations to provide training for students. During the training, students learnt about the basic foot drill, flag-raising etiquette, lowering of the flag and knowledge of and history of our country. Thereby promoting national education and strengthening students’ recognition of their national identity.

Our department organizes study tours to the Mainland to enhance Hong Kong young people’s awareness and understanding of their home country, fostering exchange with the Mainland people and strengthening their sense of national identity.

The National Education Team regularly invites students to participate in off-campus competitions and visits related to National Education. We aim to help students enhance their understanding of national development and national conditions through a diverse range of activities, thereby strengthening their sense of national identity and their commitment to being responsible citizens.

Environmental awareness should be nurtured from an early age, so that everyone can develop the right mindset to care for the Earth and protect our home. To promote an eco-friendly culture and raise students’ environmental awareness on campus, the National Education Team trains “Environmental Leaders”. They regularly assist teachers in promoting environmental protection work in school, learn environmental protection knowledge and skills, and thus develop green habits. Meanwhile, they also disseminate environmental protection messages to fellow students and are invited to participate in various environmental outdoor activities inside and outside the school. For example, they recommend students to join the “Basic Environmental Badge” programme organised by the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC), equipping students with better capacity to drive environmental protection efforts in our school.

To enhance students’ awareness of environmental protection, environmental leaders would regularly share the school’s environmental protection measures and recycling tips with the whole school during the morning assembly under the guidance of our teachers.
To inspire students’ creativity, broaden their horizons, and raise their awareness of environmental issues beyond the classroom, the National Education Team encourages students to actively participate in competitions related to environmental conservation, so as to gain more experience in creation and competitions.

To raise students’ awareness of waste recycling and waste reduction, inject new impetus, creativity and perspectives into waste recycling and upcycling, and support waste recycling through concrete actions, the National Education Team regularly organises upcycling workshops. Students are taught how to transform discarded materials into more valuable items through creative design.

Our students joined community visits and service activities led by teachers on the activity day, spreading warmth to the neighbourhood.
