Hi there! Founded by a group of hobbyists and parents, we are a club founded under Chung Ling Private High School aimed at driving students' interest in electronics and promote STEAM education to the curious.
That would be January 2014, 7 years ago. A time to reminisce!
We started off with few, but we've since gained a lot of popularity. Currently, we have 100+ members in our club!
Our typical activities are 3:20p.m. to 5:00p.m. every Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12.00p.m. every Saturday. That's three days a week!
Great question! Indeed, during the pandemic, our weekly activities have been moved to online from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m. every Saturday to accommodate online classes.
Sure! We offer comprehensive lessons for newcomers on the basic fundamentals of electronics and programming. After learning the rope, they will be exposed to a variety of hands-on projects that will allow them to learn through their own hands. We strongly believe that 100% theory and 0% practical does not work, and learners need to get their hands on realistic things to be able to learn efficiently.
Besides that, for those who have further interest and a strong will to continue learning, we do offer a Maker Class right after our Saturday class. Club members will be able to learn advanced electronics, programming and engineering skills, including 3D-Printing, model designing and many more. For those talented enough, they'd be able to participate in competitions outside the school, and even win a few prizes with the skills they've nurtured!
Fear not! We aren't idle during the pandemic - we've encouraged club members to move their activities online too by making use of online tools and online shopping. We've even managed to hold a competition online, allowing club members to complete their projects right in their homes.
Currently, we are focusing on Arduino programming, allowing club members to complete and program their circuits with components bought online.
Our club has 6 specialized coaches with immense engineering backgrounds, assisting our committees in building a systematic environment for members. But when they're busy, well, we get our advice from Mr. Google.
Superb! We've won 99 awards from local, state-level, national and even international competitions since our inception! We're not making the numbers up, check out more details at our "Achievement" section!
There's quite a lot of stuff inside! It's all that you need to build a project from scrap - carpenter tools, lots of electrical components, 3D-printer, laser cutter, computer accessories... you name it!
