I attended the University of California in Irvine where I pursued a degree in Biological Sciences/Education. I was born in Southern India and immigrated to Central California in 2010. I quickly took advantage of all the opportunities that I was presented with at Buchanan High School where I was a key member of the robotics team, part of class council, and served as a event coordinator for local robotics competitions!
I have always been passionate about the sciences and wanted to pursue a career in it. This led me to pursue a career in education. I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences that I have had while at UCI and am looking forward to continue my passion of teaching in the years to come!
For two of the four years as an undergraduate at UCI, I served as a Research Assistant for two research projects at the School of Education. During my time here, I was able to learn more about the research design process and conduct research on:
-Teacher pedagogical choices under the NGSS curriculum of Orange County teachers.
-The equity perceptions of faculty and students in credentialing programs at UCI.
I spent a great deal of time being a part of and leading a team of high school students that participated in not only building life-size robots, but also fundraising, organizing outreach events and learning skills that I still continue to use. I learned how to communicate, be creative, be organized, and most importantly, how to collaborate with students and faculty.
