Your grade is made of several components! Academic, creative, and organizational skills are all important when taking an art class. The grades you get will always the effort you put in to your work; you will always have a rubric to base your work on. That being said, here is what your grade is comprised of:
PROJECTS
These are the biggest chunk of your grade! Each project is worth 100 points. Projects include drawings, paintings, sculptures, and Google Drawings. They are completed in class unless students require more time to complete them. You may take home any project to work on it at any time! Make sure you bring back all of your supplies. If you are using school supplies, you MUST check them out with me before class is over.
PARTICIPATION
Participation is worth 100 points in total. You start every semester with 100 points, but you can lose points in a number of ways. We will go over them in depth in class, but an example would be using your phone during a lesson.
As a part of being a good art class member, you are expected to have an orderly locker. Lockers are subject to random checks! You are also expected to remember your locker combination. It is not my job to memorize 200 different locker combos! Projects that are turned in wrinkled, crinkled, ripped, stained, torn, chewed, or otherwise damaged will hurt your organization grade as well! Stay neat and you will receive full credit for this part of your grade.
QUIZZES
We will have approximately 5 quizzes over the course of the semester. They are only worth 100 points total (about 20 points apiece), but be sure to take good notes during presentations because I will give you all the information you need to ace them!
