Welcome to Second Grade! 

2025-2026

Dear New Student,

Welcome to the HEAT!!!  I hope that you and your family have had a fabulous summer, and I hope that you are looking forward to the exciting new school year.  I know that I am eager for the new 2025~2026 school year to start!  I wanted to take the time to welcome you to my class.

Do you love swimming? I do! I’ve spent the summer in and out of the pool to beat the hot summer sun’s heat!  My family has also traveled to Dallas, Texas to visit family, we put our toes in the sand at Morro Bay beach, ventured to Huntington Lake to camp too. Wow! I really enjoyed my time with my family, and I hope that you did as well. Lastly, I also have enjoyed spending lots of time getting our classroom ready for another fabulous school year!!

The first day of school will be Monday, August 18th.   On this first day, we will be spending some time getting acquainted  with Hirayama classrooms,  new classmates, and your new teacher. We are going to have fun with some great learning activities. I absolutely love to read, so get ready to hear some exciting stories about coming back to school! I hope that you are ready to learn!!

 Our classroom theme is "I KNOW I CAN AND I WILL" an attitude of anything can happen if you set your mind to it!

I look forward to meeting you at Back to School Night on August 14th.  The first day of school will be exciting!  The beginning of this year is going to be amazing I am planning on doing  exciting activities and creating a classroom that will be AWESOME!

Have you been reading this summer?! I know that my family has been reading every day.  Well done with practicing over the summer. I am already proud of you. 

 I am very excited that you are in my class this year, and I know you will find your second grade year to be your best yet at Hirayama Elementary!
