About Me

This is my 19th year teaching at Buchanan and my 13th year teaching Government and Economics. I’ve actually been a Bear for much longer, since 4th grade, the first year that Garfield was open. I graduated from Buchanan in 2002 and went to Fresno State. I didn’t enter college thinking of going into teaching, but after being several other majors I eventually landed on sociology and then a social science credential. While at Fresno State I rode on the Equestrian team, which was a very unique experience. I don’t ride anymore but I miss it!

I have been married for 12 years and have two children, Caroline and Finn. Caroline is 11 and is going to be a sixth grader this year at Garfield. Finn is 8 and will be athird grader at Garfield. We have 1 dog named Bobby. We love to travel and have outdoor adventures together!
