About Me

This is my 18th year teaching at Buchanan and my 12th year teaching Government and Economics. I’ve actually been a Bear for much longer, since 4th grade, the first year that Garfield was open. I graduated from Buchanan in 2002 and went to Fresno State. I didn’t enter college thinking of going into teaching, but after being several other majors I eventually landed on sociology and then a social science credential. While at Fresno State I rode on the Equestrian team, which was a very unique experience. I don’t ride anymore but I miss it!

I have been married for 11 years and have two children, Caroline and Finn. Caroline is 10 and is going to be a fifth grader this year at Garfield. Finn is 7 and will be a second grader at Garfield. We have 1 dog named Bobby. We love to travel and have outdoor adventures together!
