I have lived in the Fresno/Clovis area all of my life. In fact, I'm the 4th generation of my family to be born and raised here. I come from a family of teachers - both of my parents, two of my siblings, my uncle, my sister-in-law, and two brothers-in law - all of them are teachers! I knew from a young age that teaching is what I wanted to do with my life.
I went to Bullard High School and graduated from Fresno State. I earned my teaching credential from National University. I earned my Masters in Educational Leadership from Fresno State in 2017.
I have taught in Fresno Unified, Hanford Elementary School District, and Clovis Unified. This year marks the beginning of my 14th year in teaching. I have taught 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades and I have worked in administration as well. I love the amazing community at Riverview Elementary!
My wonderful wife, Jill, is a nurse and health coach. She's also an artist and a singer. We have three amazing kids: Sam, Lillie, and Evie. Sam is 12 and going into 7th grade. Lillie is 10 and entering 5th grade. Evie is 4 and starting TK this year at Riverview! We have a Border Collie named Penny and two cats named Finn and Hazel.
I love to read, write, cook, and be outdoors for fun. I love running. I love the beach and the mountains. I love Disneyland, Star Wars, and Back to the Future. I love coffee and the Peanuts gang (Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and all the rest). I love music and I play keyboard in a country cover band and at my church!
I am passionate about teaching and helping the next generation become great leaders, thinkers, and learners. I believe that nothing is impossible with the correct mindset the right support.
Here's to a great school year!
