Hello Everyone,

Here’s a look at what’s happening in Room 10 this week!

➗ Math

• 🔢 We are starting Lesson 12, which focuses on three-digit numbers and their place value.

• 💻 Students need to pass 2 iReady math lessons this week.

✏️ Spelling

• These next two weeks are review spelling weeks. Packets were passed out today.

• This week’s spelling words:

  • can • big • because • and • said • has • go • are • for • come

• 📅 Spelling Test: Friday, December 12

📚 ELA

• ✍️ This week, we are learning about narrative writing and identifying its key elements (plot, conflict, resolution, etc.).

• 📘 We are also going over collective nouns during our morning warm-up.

• 📝 Students are working in their journals, aiming to write 2–3 entries per week.

📖 Reading

• 🌎 For the next two weeks, we are reading about Holidays Around the World and taking a break from our Benchmark curriculum

• Today, we learned about England. Students will learn about a new country each day until Winter Break.

• 📚 We are continuing to read The One and Only Ivan after lunch each day.

• No sight words this week or next week

💚 Positivity Project — Supporting Others When They Struggle

• 🤝 We are learning what it means to support someone who is having a difficult moment.

• 💬 We will talk about ways we can help classmates and friends when they need encouragement.

• 🗳️ Students will vote for a classmate who showed this strength at the end of the week.

📅 Looking Ahead & Reminders

• 🎶 Winter Music Performance: Tomorrow, December 9th at 6:00 p.m.

  • Students should be dropped off at 5:45 p.m.

• 🗂️ Progress Reports Sent Home: Friday, December 12
