Cheer Contract 2025-26
1. Academic Standing
1. Students must maintain a certain level of scholarship (2.0 GPA minimum) with no failing grades
2. Students who do not meet eligibility criteria at one grading period will be placed on probation. They may practice and compete with site intervention to address the academic concerns until the following grading period.
3. Students who do not meet the eligibility criteria at two consecutive grading periods will result in the student being ineligible. They will be re-evaluated at the next grading period.
4. Students on competition cheer will be dropped from the team if they do not make eligible grades (2.0 GPA minimum with no failing grades) by the end of October.
2. Citizenship
1. Students must maintain satisfactory citizenship as judged by the advisor and administration.
3. Requirements
Students must attend all practices, performances, rallies, games, and other events, in the required uniform, at the discretion of the advisors and the administration
Students must attend all required practices. Cheer practices will be Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30. Spirit will practice from 3:30-4:30.
*Leading up to competitions and spirit nights, additional practices or time changes may occur.*
Students must help with school events and other responsibilities as designated by the advisors.
Students strongly recommended to attend cheer camp.
Students must wear required uniform to school on Fridays and other days as designated by the advisors.
Competition Cheer Members must attend every competition: Clovis North Showcase, and Clovis West Showdown, or more at the discretion of the advisors and the administration.
4. Attendance
Attendance will be taken at the beginning of every practice, performance, rally, game, and other events.
If a student misses two practices or is more than 15 minutes late without prior parent contact, they will be dropped from the cheer team.
If students cannot attend a practice/event, or are going to miss for any reason, absences will need to be communicated to the designated coach prior to that practice or event.
If you are sick, please email your designated coach.
All appointments (doctors, dentist, etc.) should be scheduled around practice and events. Please do not schedule appointments during practices. Non-medical appointments will not be excused.
If a student has an unexcused absence the week of an event (not a Friday game), they will not be able to participate for that event.
5. Responsibilities
The squads will perform at all home football and basketball games and other activities (such as rallies), as well as attend other events at the direction of the advisors and administration.
6. Participation
All athletes that adhere to our PAW Pride Expectations will be allowed to participate at events.
1. P- Be Positive: during practice and events
2. A- Be Accountable: try hard and never quit, attend all scheduled events, and wear uniforms
3. W- Be Wise about Safety: follow rules and listen to coaches at practice and events
***Unacceptable behavior could include treating fellow team members, squad members, advisors, or cheer instructors in a disrespectful way, leaving an event without checking with an advisor, playing around during practice or at an event after a verbal warning has been given, or acting out in any way that is unbecoming of a Cole Cheerleader.***
