COVID - 19 Class Update
On Friday, July 17th, The Governor of California mandated that no school residing within a county on the COVID-19 Watchlist be allowed to offer in person instruction, and therefore, must begin the school year online. This directly impacts us at Clovis High School, as we are in Fresno County, and Fresno County is on that watchlist.
This directly impacts how our learning experiences will take place this year:
· Lectures and group work will be experienced through virtual class meets until further notice
· All submissions of class work will be digital in some form or another
· All assessments will also take place digitally, but could vary in the method of delivery
While the Modern Language standards remain the same as they would for any course, the allotted time we have together, and the method under which we must learn them is directly impacted.
As always, if you have any questions or are concerned about your grade please do not hesitate to contact me at MeghanAnderson@clovisusd.k12.ca.us

CHS Modern Languages Department Mission Statement
The goal of our department is to prepare our students to participate in a global society. Students participating in a Modern Language course or courses will develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing as they prepare for college admissions and all language endeavors. Students will also increase their knowledge and appreciation of diverse cultures, while acquiring life-long learning skills. Furthermore, we are committed to implementing and delivering the California World Language Content Standards and upholding department standards, policies, and procedures as specified within each course syllabus.
