Clovis High Choirs

There are five choirs at Clovis High School. Each group participates in multiple festivals and performances in the community throughout the year. All choir students have opportunities to travel throughout California to perform and experience educational opportunities throughout the state. The choir curriculum is focused around music literacy and our four concerts during the year.

Show Choir Course # 88333

This choir is a highly dedicated group of students focused on performing song and dance at the highest level. This is a new class for CHS. We will be focusing on showcasing a Disney Spectacular Medley for our show in 2020-2021.

Concert Choir Course #88309.G (Soprano Alto) and #88309.B (Tenor Bass)

Concert Choir is a mixed voice class featuring music for intermediate SATB voices. These students work on increasing their music literacy and knowledge by performing music from different eras and regions. Concert Choir is an non-auditioned class.

Chamber Singers Course # 88308

The Chamber Singers are an auditioned mixed voice class that performs advanced SATB music. These students already have some mastery of sight singing and work to challenge themselves to be ready for college level music. Chamber choir is a very active group that performs in the community as ambassadors for the CHS Choir Department, through school visitations, caroling, performing for the City of Clovis and other awesome performance opportunities.

Treble Chorus Course # 88318

This choir is made entirely of soprano and alto singers. These students work to increase their music literacy through singing two- four part literature. Music Theory and Sight Singing are heavily focused on in this class. Students learn how to utilize their vocal mechanism in a healthy way transitioning them into singing with the voice of a young adult.

Cougar Chorale Course #88F13

This evening class is an advanced treble chorus made of auditioned singers. These students perform challenging music that requires independence and mastery of their voice and high level music literacy. This class meets twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5-7 pm.
