PHYSICAL FITNESS TESTING - details coming soon
Dear Parents,
We are pleased to have your child in our physical education classes at Clark Intermediate.
Our primary focus this Spring is in developing and measuring your child’s physical fitness level.
We are currently involved in fitness conditioning (____________), and our final fitness assessments for all students will be conducted _____________in the following fitness areas: strength, abdominal endurance, upper body strength and endurance, flexibility, and aerobic endurance.
We would appreciate and encourage your support during this time, as your child may experience some muscle soreness and fatigue due in part to daily fitness activities. This is, at times, a common component of physical training and is only temporary in nature.
We would also appreciate your cooperation in helping us develop your child to his or her highest total body fitness level by limiting written excuses. Although it may be necessary, on occasion, to excuse your child, please understand that an effective training program depends upon continued daily participation.
Your child will be advised of his/her present scores. He/She will set personal fitness goals to work towards during the testing period. There are rewards for those students who score at the 85%tile and the 95%tile of the Healthy Fitness Zone.
Following physical fitness testing, we will round out the school year with instructional and recreational units and all male students will be in a swim unit from May 12- 30, 2025.
Thank you for your continued support and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Clark Intermediate Physical Education Staff
