Notecard Topics (Carefully Read Instructions Per Topic)
- Explain Behavior of Particles and how they affect Pressure or Volume in: Boyles, Charles, and Avogadro's Law. Do not show problems, instead draw before and after containers for each law. The purpose is to explain Kinetic energy of particles and frequency of collisions. *You should use 1 notecard per law*
- State the Conditions of STP and Molar Volume (1 problem exemplifying both at same time)
- Gas Equation Formula for Density (1 density problem)
- Partial Pressure and Relation to Raoult's Law. (1 problem with just partial pressure and 1 problem solving for pressure with mole fractions)
- Postulates for Kinetic Molecular Theory and preferred temp & pressure or Ideal Gas (2 Ideal Gas Law Problems)
- Draw Maxwell-Boltzmann Velocity Distribution at Different Temperatures. Explain why distributions are skewed right (two reasons why) and how standard deviation of each distribution changes due to temperature. (No problems, just focus on drawing graph and your conceptual explanation)
- Write Van Der Waal's equation and indicate where in the formula the corrections for volume and pressure are. (No problems, just explain why corrections are necessary)
