Accelerate Education

2nd and 3rd grade

Welcome to the 2020-2021 year at Fancher Creek Elementary!

My name is Maricela Calandra and I will be your child's teacher.

About Accelerate Education

Accelerate Education (for 2nd and 3rd grade students) provides an exciting, engaging experience that is designed to capture attention and draw students into the interactive world of online and blended learning. Using a combination of animations, simulations, video-led direct instruction, relevant websites, and a myriad of activities that support the lesson’s topic, students have a wealth of information at their fingertips that can be reviewed as many times as necessary to achieve mastery. AE strongly believes that each student is unique and acquires information in his or her own way. As a result of that belief, our courses are designed to provide students with activities that support the ways they learn best: seeing, hearing, and touching the course materials.

MRS. CALANDRA WILL BE AVAILABLE ON A DAILY BASIS TO SUPPORT AND GUIDE YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING THROUGH THEIR AE PLATFORM.

YOUR CHILD WILL BE EXPECTED TO CHECK IN WITH MRS. CALANDRA ON A DAILY BASIS THROUGH ZOOM AT 8:30-9:00 AM or 2:30-3:00 PM.

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ZOOM 12:30-1:00 PM

Zoom link can be accessed through Clever Teacher Page or Meeting ID and password on log in card.

MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD LOGS INTO ACCELERATED EDUCATION TO COMPLETE THEIR ASSIGNMENTS AT THEIR OWN PACE. STUDENTS AND PARENTS SHOULD REGULARLY CHECK THEIR PROGRESS TO MAINTAIN APPROPRIATE PACING AND TO ENSURE COMPLETION OF ALL ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME.

Curriculum and Pacing

Students will complete a series of assignments that are intended to cover the standards for their enrolled grade level. Although students can work at their own pace, the Accelerate Education platform will track student progress and will indicate whether they are working at an appropriate pace or are falling behind in their work. Just like in the classroom, students will need to make sure that they are "on track" by certain grading deadlines, so their grades are not negatively impacted.
