I am Dr. Sajida Sheikh, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi. My academic foundation is deeply rooted in this institution, where I completed my Ph.D. in Materials Engineering in 2023. I also hold an M.E. (2016) and a B.E. (2011) in Materials Engineering from NED University, having secured the 3rd position during my undergraduate studies. My teaching career began in 2012, and since 2016, I have served in various faculty roles at NED University, including Lecturer and Assistant Professor within both the Materials and Metallurgical Engineering departments. My research expertise lies in the synthesis and characterization of advanced functional materials, specifically focusing on perovskite and tetragonal tungsten bronze ceramic oxides, as well as piezoelectric, dielectric, and multiferroic materials. I am also actively involved in corrosion analysis, prevention, and protection. Over the years, I have supervised numerous projects ranging from the green synthesis of ceramic oxides to the corrosion analysis of cast aluminum anodes. My work has been recognized through high-impact publications in journals like Materials Research Express and Materials Science and Engineering: B, and I have successfully managed a 3 million PKR research grant for my doctoral studies. I possess comprehensive laboratory expertise in advanced material characterization techniques, including XRD, VSM, LCR, and potentiostatic corrosion analysis, which I utilize to drive innovation in functional materials.Â
