Introduction
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, where my research focuses on energy storage technologies, with particular emphasis on ion batteries. My work spans catalyst synthesis, characterization, and applied performance evaluation.
I bring extensive hands-on expertise in advanced analytical and electrochemical techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence (XRF), BET surface area analysis, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy, potentiostat operation, battery cycling and performance testing, and gas chromatography. Complementing this experimental capability, I have substantial experience in establishing the computational infrastructure for materials science research — encompassing both hardware deployment and software environment configuration for packages such as Quantum ESPRESSO, CP2K, and ABINIT. This includes end-to-end Linux environment setup, headless server operation, and remote access configuration, enabling sustained high-throughput computational workflows.
My professional experience further extends across the full spectrum of technical project administration: proposal development and grant writing, project timeline and milestone management, human resource acquisition and capacity building, procurement, and technical assessment.
Alongside my research and administrative responsibilities, I maintain a deep commitment to pedagogy. I have cultivated a rigorous teaching practice at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and remain dedicated to the continuous improvement of the teaching and learning experience. I actively implement innovative instructional strategies designed to strengthen student engagement and knowledge retention, fostering a classroom environment that prioritizes critical thinking and academic excellence.
I additionally serve as a consultant to industry, delivering practical, evidence-based solutions to materials-related challenges. My publications are available on Google Scholar and Scopus.
