My research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of advanced functional materials, with a primary emphasis on nanotechnology and sustainable material solutions. A significant portion of my work involves the development of biodegradable biocomposites and ecofriendly food packaging materials, particularly investigating the mechanical and antibacterial properties of PVA/cornstarch systems. I also specialize in the green synthesis of metallic nanoparticles, such as silver and gold, to explore their plasmonic effects and applications in antimicrobial coatings.
In the realm of environmental remediation, my research includes the engineering of organically tailored silica aerogels for the adsorption of heavy metals like lead. This work extends to the development of green corrosion-resistant coatings for infrastructure. My technical expertise spans advanced clean-room processes, including photolithography and MEMS/NEMS fabrication, alongside comprehensive analytical characterization using SEM, AFM, XRD, and Raman spectroscopy. This research trajectory has been supported by over 30 million PKR in competitive grants and has been recognized with the HEC-Pakistan Best Young Researcher Award 2024 and the NED University Best Researcher Award 2023.
