Homework
Homework is subject to change, so always check and sign your child’s agenda each night.
Math Homework: Students will need to practice math facts at home. Math homework will come home sporadically; always check the agenda for homework assignments. At the end of each math chapter, there will be a test.
Reading Homework: Read 20 minutes each night: Monday - Thursday. Aim for 80 minutes or MORE each week!
Spelling: On Friday, your child will choose new words to study for the week. There will be activities to complete each day here at school but additional efforts to study words at home is always helpful. The spelling assessments will be on Thursday's each week.
Social Studies/Science: Project-based assignments during some units will be assigned. We will alternate social studies and science units. The test is always at the end of the unit and studying will be necessary for success.
Take Home Folder
Your child’s take home folder needs to be kept and used all year. The most important thing to remember about this take home folder is that your child needs to bring it back & forth between school & home EVERYDAY. The agenda will need to remain inside of this folder daily.
This folder will have in-class activity papers, tests/quizzes, office/principal updates, newsletters and homework throughout the year.
Inside the folder, you will see a “Return to School” and “Keep at Home” side. Homework and any notes for me should always be on the “Return to School” side of the folder. One of your child’s daily tasks is to record the assignments in their agenda that mirror what I have posted on my whiteboard.
Feel free to jot me a note in your child's agenda, if needed, as I check this agenda page routinely.
