Library week Contest Rules

Creepy Carrot and Favorite Book Character Contests at West Kent

Favorite Book Characters

We are celebrating library week with an invitation for students to do a creative art project related to their favorite book characters.

Students can paint or draw on their pumpkin or tissue box. They can use small accessories. Only one entry per student please. Students need to carry them to school, so do not buy pumpkins that are too large. This an optional activity.

 CONTEST RULES:

-Students may make a book character by only using a tissue box and art supplies.

-You may use pumpkins or gourds or both to create your project

-There can be absolutely no carved entries as this leads to the pumpkin decaying quickly. To decorate you can use paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, or other craft items on the pumpkin or tissue box. BE CREATIVE!

-Projects must represent a book character from a book/graphic novel. On the entry form you must write the title and author of the book, and bring the book or a picture of the book cover to display with your project.

-This is a home project and entries should be done mostly by the students, but parents or other family members may help you pick out an idea.

Please bring your pumpkin or tissue box project to school by Wednesday, October 18th.

-All projects should go home starting Friday,  October 26th. Those that remain on Friday will be thrown out.
