October 2021
Hello everyone!
It's hard to believe that it's October 21st already! Here are a few notes :
Students continue to work on number sense. We are working on ordering three digit numbers from greatest to least or least to greatest. Also we are practicing skip counting from 3's. 4's 25's forward and backward from any given number. Finally, we are reviewing counting money For example : Show me two or three different ways to make $4.75 or $5.70.
In writing, we are finishing up crafting true stories. For November, we are going to focus on a punctuation unit. I would like to give students some time to practice writing in google docs. We may create a new piece or do a final copy of a previously completed piece.
On a different note, the air is getting cooler. We still have beautifully warm days. I love the sunshine. The class and I are heading to the woods in the next week or so for our wonderful walk in Hyde Park. I love going out once a month just to see the changes happen along the beautiful path. Right now, the woods will be awash in color!
Soon after that it will be heading towards Halloween. Due to food allergies , I will be supplying the children with a non-edible Halloween treat. At Westwood, we wear our orange and black to school for Halloween and leave the costumes for home.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day !
Ms. Vickie
