Hello, my name is Kim McNeill-MacDonald. I have been teaching for over twenty four years and more specifically twenty-two years as a physical education specialist at Elm Street Elementary. Elm Street is a dual track school therefore having French as a second language is very beneficial.
I am a mom to four healthy and active boys. Sam (21 years old), Ed (19 years old), Sid (17 years old) and Seth (15 years old). I also take on the role of step mom to two other boys. Brodie (15) and Kole (13). Our family really enjoys being outdoors and active. As a child, I grew up living for the great outdoors and still do to this day!
I have a precious fur baby, Blue. He has one eye that has a spec of blue, thus the name. He's a cuddle baby and also enjoys being active!
I raised my boys to enjoy the outdoors and be involved in various athletic activities. I also played and competed in numerous sports. Golf, soccer, tennis, figure skating, gymnastics, volleyball, hockey, badminton, field hockey, track and field, running, swimming and triathlons.
For winter I also really enjoy cross country and downhill skiing. So fun!
I enjoy collecting treasures. Always be on the look out for special finds. Eyes wide open!
I'm also a music lover! As a child I took piano lessons. Once I began Junior High I joined band and played the flute. In my High School transition I wanted to also play in Jazz band therefore I learned to play Alto saxophone. I listen to music daily and a great "pump up" tune always helps when exercising.
I received my post secondary degree from St. Francis Xavier University in 1995 - Bachelor Degree in Science with a Major in Physical Education. I then completed my Masters Degree in Literacy from Mount Saint Vincent in 2004.
As a physical education specialist I always enjoy helping students be active. It makes my heart and soul happy to see and witness the student’s success. Setting goals, being creative, sharing milestones, competing and achieving goals.
There is no bad weather, dress in layers!
Teamwork!
Go Eagles Go :)
